Restrict the maximum file attachment size in Outlook Live

The default maximum file attachment size in Outlook Live is 18MB… this is great… but sometimes where a customer has limited bandwidth, allowing users to send around files as large as this can be an issue.  Transport Rules are the answer… check out the demo…

The cmdlet I used here was:

New-TransportRule "BlockMessagesLargerThan1MB" -AttachmentSizeOver 1mb -RejectMessageEnhancedStatusCode "5.7.1" -RejectMessageReasonText "E-mail messages larger than 1MB are not allowed."

Enjoy!
